Welcome Students and Families!
I grew up here in Barrie, Ontario with my parents and older brother. I attended Warnica Public School and Innisdale Secondary School.
After graduating high school, I spent 5 years in North Bay, Ontario at Nipissing University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree and a Bachelor of Education degree. Throughout my first four years, I really developed a love for art. While I always had an interest throughout my childhood, it became a passion in university. I was able to explore art in variety of ways and it truly became a great hobby of mine.
What they say is really true - university is a spectacular time of a person's life. I met incredible people, learned incredible things and took part in fantastic opportunities. Going away for university really opened my eyes to what other places had to offer.
After graduating from university, I wanted to continue to explore. I spent time teaching abroad in Cambridge, United Kingdom. While there, I got to travel around most of western Europe. To date, it is probably my most memorable time. Through teaching and travelling, I got to meet diverse groups of people and take part in new teaching experiences. It was a spectacular eye opener to how diverse our world really is.
In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, travelling, reading and when I have time - creating art! My favourite sport is hockey - I am sorry to say that while most of my family are, I am not a leafs' fan! Go Ducks Go! I listen to most types of music. However, both sides of my family grew up in small towns so I have a special place in my heart for country music!
I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you! Let's have a great term together!
